Salt Reduction Program Reduces Heart Deaths

The United Kingdom program of voluntary salt reduction, in collaboration with the food industry, has reduced 24-hour urinary sodium levels by 15% and prevented an estimated 9,000 cardiovascular deaths each year since the program began in 2003-2004, according to this comprehensive analysis.
